I can see that this wiki article is more than 3 years old so you might have revised it since, but I hope you can remember how this example was set up.

I tried to go through the example spreadsheet and convert it to metric units as I hope to use these for all calculations and then convert to some other units only for the list that the players see. In the conversion I seem to get a lot of problems from the cell H8, labeled "world value (oz. gold)" since corrected to "world value (c.p./oz. gold)". Can it be that it is not the label that should have be corrected, but the value?

Unpacking the formula in excel I think it calculates the following:
2.0 ref * 8,715 gp/oz * 192 cp/gp * 1,033 (rarity) = 3,458 cp/oz.

It seems to be used further on in the calculations as the value of all references expressed in oz. (as originally labelled). Which would be calculated as:
2,0 refs * 1320 oz/ref * 1,033 (rarity) = 2,728 oz.

Does that make sense?Sebastian DMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11881096217978187054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984041398989218786.post-80577422604700039372019-07-13T14:26:38.763-07:002019-07-13T14:26:38.763-07:00I trust your math. You should be sure to look at these pages on the wiki, they're more reliable.

As far as the weird set of calculations that I use, rather than the short-hand, it is because I believe there is benefit to knowing for political reasons how much actual gold/other materials exist physically. This number isn't needed to determine the value, but it potentially has other uses.Alexis Smolenskhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10539170107563075967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8984041398989218786.post-45377086191714093972019-07-13T13:17:33.837-07:002019-07-13T13:17:33.837-07:00If I have done the math correctly, it looks like t...If I have done the math correctly, it looks like the final cost/unit reduces to the gold price divided by the units per gold reference of each good.

So for ore: 1726.06 / 4000000 * 192 * 8.715 * 1.03 = 0.745 (rather than going through the whole process)

If this is correct, then the local/total availability of the good itself only comes into play when "adjusting for travel" as described on Let's Try It from the Beginning Again.
