Will cause any thin object with length to become twisted and knotted so as to be useless.
The cantrip will affect rope, things that tie, thread, strings, bridles, harnesses, bowstrings and so forth, so that these things will be useless when wanted. Items that are already fixed together, such as buttons from buttonholes, belts and backpack straps (pulled across the chest) will be similarly affected.
Any and all such items will require 4-10 rounds to free them from their knotting, unless the item is cut to where it is in effect useless.
The reverse of the cantrip, untie, simply frees tangled objects and makes them useful, or alternately causes things that are tied together to come apart.
