Once gripcolle has been applied, it will seal two objects together until human will chooses to separate the objects again. Once the objects have been separated, however, the gripcolle's magical effect will be dispersed and the seal cannot be remade (unless new gripcolle is used). The amount of gripcolle needed to create the seal is equal to 1 oz. of substance per 100 lbs. of object to be sealed; thus a halfling would require 1 oz. of gripcolle to ensure that a sword would be fixed to a chosen hand. A human riding a horse with a saddle would need 2-3 oz. to adhere to the saddle, depending on the combined weight of the person and the saddle; the horse's weight would matter only if the rider wanted to ride directly on the horse's bare back (in which case the seal would be as tight as the user desired).
There are some drawbacks. It requires at least two full rounds to break the seal of the gripcolle if this is desired. Riding a wild horse bareback would not stop the horse from rolling over on its back, potentially crushing the rider who could not get free before taking damage. Similar issues may arise with falling while attached to an object (in which case the whole weight of the object is relevant with respect to, say, feather fall). Moreover, characters who choose to 'sleep with their sword,' rather than break the gripcolle, should be treated as not rested with respect to healing or being active for the next day's activities (see Forced March [placeholder]).
Note that when used in association with weapons, the weapon will not be dropped on a natural 1.
