Made of myrrh infused with powdered mercury and mithril (puddled, not wrought), then carefully cooked and distilled in a manner similar to drawing aromatic oils from incense. The effect is to temporarily (for ten combat rounds) cause an ordinary weapon to hit creatures that would ordinarily only be hit with silvered weapons (weapons made of substances that are silver-plated).
The substance is also a key ingredient in a variety of potions, such as speed, gaseous form, treasure finding and undead control.
